TUTORIAL 1

Second tutorial is on the main effects is the growing vines. For growing vines, I need to choose a suitable brushes in PhotoShop to put in After Effects to animate the vines to make it have the grow effect. Choosing one by one of the vines and cut it to put in different layer before importing to After Effects. After importing, making use of the pen tool to edit and animate it. I tried a few tries for this to make the vines look perfect and turn out good. The first few tries it does not look well because of my masking of the vines that is overlapping each other. Other than that problems I faced were having the vines not animating as how I want it to be in After Effects. I also need to carefully use the pen tool to do this and making sure that the stroke size is not too big or too small that make them don't look nice. 

In this tutorial, he taught us how to do motion tracking properly to ensure that the Photoshop images we imported goes well and look natural with the footage. Having motion tracking helps in terms of ensuring the images does not move away or does not move together with the footage which will make it look funny. So I learnt how to import images that have been edited from Photoshop and just import it to After Effects. I am sure I need to do it better next time and  it does not look perfect. I am very sure it will help me in MGE Project 2 in the future.

BEFORE

The images are colour corrected to make sure it look better. For the first image, I increase the the brightness, lower down the greens and increase the reds because of their brownish coat colour. I make sure it is not too much so that it will not look bright red. Second and third picture I edit the colour by making sure it is more clearer and contrasting compared to the original image. The video is then the tutorial for the bleach bypass.

From week 12 tutorials I learnt that having something to have a too outstanding colours are not good as it will distract the viewers and will look at the thing instead of the characters. For this example for the first image is the red vase. Comparing the original image(first) and the edited image(second), can see the difference of the vase colour that have been colour corrected so that it does not be too outstanding. Same goes to the second tutorials for the pope video. His clothes are too bright and the video is a bit yellowish. So applying what I have learnt, I brightened the video and edit the colour for his cape. This allow his skin colour to be normal too instead of the yellowish colour in the first video.

This is the final product for my MGE Project 1 using the song "Everything At Once" by Lenka. I did manage to create the cartoonish feel to the video with the cartoon characters in it. I managed to have the background to coordinate with the song beat at the starting of the video too as additional thing to my planning. To plan having the wolf tooth to continue to the sharp tooth and deep bite is also successful by using the camera. Though I did not manage to achieve bits and pieces of what I have planned, I am confident that I managed to cover 80% of the planning and also add a little or replace some ideas along the way. To reflect on the work I have done, I think I did fairly well in terms of the coordinating the text and the song, having metaphors and  also attempting on the camera which I find it quite difficult to do. Overall, I think I enjoyed editing the video most and see the successful outcome.

These videos are tutorials followed during lesson in class where Mr Jason taught us what are the different functions and shortcuts of what we can do to edit videos. This tutorial also actually make me understand of how to blend the background and video together because actually the videos are making use of green screens. As for the explosion, it helps me to improve on the timing of how the guy jumps off when the thing explodes.

As for the second video is where we play around with the track matte where the colour of the person changes and adding a ink drop animation to it. And as for the third video, is where I learn how the muzzle spark is supposed to follow the way the muzzle move when the guy shoots. This is using the function of track motion. As for the sky replacement is an easy tutorial to follow, and it is simple too.
